The Love Your City Initiative supports the development of the impact economy and growth of for-benefit organizations through a place-based approach. Our mission is to connect organizations with conscious consumers and sustainable service providers to accelerate equity and sustainability. Our vision is for every organization and its appointed Impact Officer to collaborate to accelerate equity and sustainability practices that allow us to enjoy the communities we love for years to come.

Supported by the Greater New Orleans Foundation, Love Your City's Regional Sustainability Committee (RSC) is made up of recognized leaders and subject-matter experts in our community who understand how to maximize impact through economic development in key areas like housing, food, and stormwater management. We’re building committees all over the country to help support sustainable development - join us!

The power of cross-sector collaboration

The Regional Sustainability Committee (RSC) is comprised of 'backbone' organizations that work throughout greater New Orleans. Through a collaborative approach, the RSC leverages decades of experience and expertise across sectors to address the city's most important issues.

On October of 2023, New Orleans hosted the 11th edition of the Love Your City Awards Gala. The event promoted our City’s culture and brought together in-person and virtual guests to celebrate New Orleans’ most impactful leaders.

The event also served to address some of our community’s most pressing social and environmental needs, especially those that have magnified through the pandemic and the climate events of 2021. Proceeds from the 2022 event supported the Veggi Co-op in Village de l’Est to benefit from a Green Infrastructure project that will address flooding and allow year-long food and flower production! This past year, we provided funds to support the United Houma Nation in addressing flooding for their community center. Learn about the impacts of last year’s event here.
