Our Challenge

Louisiana ranks 50th amongst all states in the 2020 America’s Health Rankings Annual Report. According to the World Health Organization, poor population health affects economic growth through lower savings rates, lower rates of return on capital, and lower levels of domestic and foreign investment.

WHAT YOU CAN DO / WHO CAN HELP

  1. Support programs such as the Health Innovators Challenge from the New Orleans Business Alliance. It promotes research and solutions for our biggest health challenges.

  2. Support LaCHIP. The Louisiana Children’s Health Insurance Program (LaCHIP) provides health coverage to uninsured children up to age 19.

  3. Direct individuals without health coverage to the Health Insurance Marketplace. The Health Insurance Marketplace (a part of the Affordable Care Act, sometimes called "Obamacare") helps people without health coverage find and enroll in a plan that fits their budget and meets their needs.
