  • Trim the scallions two inches above the roots and stand them in a jar with the wispy root ends down

  • Fill the jar up with enough fresh water to cover the roots and place it in a window that gets plenty of sunlight

  • Change the water every day or so and see your greens grow within a few days!

Tips for re-growing lettuce plants:

  • Place the stem end of a head of lettuce in a shallow dish of water

  • Keep the plant in a window that gets ample amounts of sunlight

  • Change the water every one to two days in order to keep it fresh

Steps to grow your own avocado tree:

  • Pit and clean your avocado seed and orient it with the pointed end at the top, and the rounded end at the bottom

  • Then take 4 toothpicks and insert them around the sides of the pit in a slightly downward angle

  • Rest the toothpicks on the rim of a jar and fill the jar with enough water to cover the bottom of the seed

  • Wait until the stem grows six inches tall and replant it in potting soil
